Here is what our service department handles on horse and livestock trailers:

1. Horse Trailer Inspection and Diagnosis: Before any work starts, we pull the mats, check the floor by hand, and go over the brakes, hardware, and lighting. This is also the inspection to get before you buy a used horse trailer, because most of what matters is out of sight from a walkaround.

2. Floor Inspection and Replacement: Horse urine is corrosive to both wood and steel, and a floor that looks solid from above can be rotted underneath. We pull the mats, probe the wood for soft spots, and check the steel crossmembers and subfloor supports for rust. If the floor needs replacing, that is work we do. Floor failure under load is one of the more serious things that can happen with horses aboard, and it is preventable.

3. Roof and Vent Repair: Cracked vent covers, vents stuck closed, and missing covers let water in and cut the airflow your horses need on the road. We replace vent covers, and we repair the roof and wall damage that follows when a vent has been leaking for a while.

4. Latches, Hinges, and Divider Hardware: Horses push and kick against doors and dividers, and the hardware carries that load for the life of the trailer. We check latches for positive engagement and replace worn slam latches, drop bars, divider pins, and hinges. A latch that can be worked open from the inside is a safety problem, not a convenience problem.

5. Brake System Service: A loaded two-horse trailer runs heavy, and slant-load and stock trailers run heavier. We service electric brakes, replace worn magnets, check drums for scoring, and set up brake controllers. If your stopping distance has grown or the trailer pushes the truck under braking, bring it in.

6. Bearings, Axles, and Springs: We repack and inspect bearings, replace axles, hubs, and springs when they are worn out, and handle tires and rims. Trailers that sit between hauls age their tires out well before they wear the tread out, so tire age is part of what we look at.

7. Wiring and Lighting: Interior lights, running lights, and brake lights on a horse trailer deal with moisture, corroded connectors, and wiring that horses can reach and chew. We repair and replace wiring, lights, plugs, and breakaway kits, and we clean up the corroded four-pin and seven-pin connectors that cause lights to cut out at night.

8. Welding and Fabrication: We weld steel and aluminum, including frame, crossmember, and tongue repairs. Structural work like this is not an owner job, and it is not something to put off once you have found rust at a weld.

9. Servicing Horse and Livestock Trailers: We work on bumper pull and gooseneck horse trailers, two-horse trailers, slant-loads, stock trailers, and living-quarters trailers.
